Responsibilities After Building A Swimming Pool

After building a swimming pool, homeowners must face the biggest drawback to owning a custom design pool. The maintenance is the biggest downfall to building swimming pools, and it never ends. Luckily, California swimming pools builders can provide homeowners with many valuable tools to maintain their custom design pool, so it looks just as beautiful in ten years as the day it was completed.

When it comes to maintaining a custom design pool, the water balance is the most important step. Months after building a swimming pool, owners will find that they may have to create the proper pH range and total alkalinity for their swimming pools after periods of not using them. The correct pH range is 7.2 to 7.6 and the total alkalinity should be about 180 PPM. It is also extremely important to make sure the pool is sanitary, with a minimum of 1.5 to 3 PPM of chlorine at all times, which most California pool builders supply at installation. After building swimming pools in their backyardsc homeowners should shock the chlorine level to 5 PPM once every two weeks, after large bather loads, and after heavy rains.

A properly balanced and sanitized pool should also never have an algae problem, but to make sure, homeowners should add algaecide weekly according the builder's instructions. Just to make sure everything's safe and clean, homeowners should also test their swimming pools every other day. There are many responsibilities that come along with building a swimming pool, but with a regular maintenance schedule, it should be like clockwork.
